Fragrance Performance Evaluation

A useful scent assessment follows the product journey: what is perceived in pack, during use, and after use. The moments and method differ by application.

What the review can cover.

An application-led scope, agreed before any conclusion is drawn.

01Define the moment

Choose where fragrance matters: bottle opening, lather, wash, dry fabric, hot candle, or room diffusion.

02Specify the base

Evaluate in the intended detergent, powder, wax, diffuser carrier, shampoo, or lotion.

03Use a repeatable method

Agree sample preparation, dosage, observation timing, and a consistent comparison process.

04Separate preference from claims

An olfactive preference is not evidence for a quantitative longevity, odour-removal, or efficacy statement.

Test conditions, acceptance criteria, and results are project-specific. This page does not report laboratory results.

Questions before evaluation.

Can one protocol compare every fragrance application?

No. Evaluation should match the product format and the customer decision it needs to support.

Is smelling a blotter enough?

A blotter can help shortlist scent character, but it does not establish performance in a finished base.

Can performance claims be published from a concept image?

No. Claims require relevant testing and records for the actual product and stated conditions.

Share your product base, target market, scent direction, and expected quantity. We can discuss a suitable sample and document scope.
